Design Story

The centre holds a straw hat with a red band, framed by a rope ring and a four-point compass star — a classic medallion structure that gives the eye an immediate anchor. Around it, satellite motifs sit in a loose grid: a smiling sun, a caravel under sail, palm islands, a treasure chest, a picnic basket, sliced watermelon, a coconut drink, a skull flag. The palette stays restrained — sand cream, rope gold, deep marine blue, coral orange — so the busy vignettes never fight the centre. A deep blue border loaded with ship's wheels, shells and knotwork closes the field, with fringed edges softening the square silhouette.

Room & Styling

On a rug, that hierarchy matters: the medallion reads from standing height, the small vignettes reward closer viewing when you sit. Ample cream negative space keeps the surface breathable under a low table, and the blue frame draws a clean visual footprint against wood, tile or grass.
