Design Story

The composition is strictly vertical and strictly symmetrical. A skull sits beneath a jeweled crown, one eye socket covered by a patch carrying the Bay Bridge emblem, the other set with a deep blue stone. Crossed sword forms frame it, chain-like linework drapes the shoulders of the design, and a gem-studded basketball anchors the lower half with the blue and gold bridge mark at its centre. Everything below resolves into scrollwork and a single diamond-cut accent. The palette is disciplined: black ground, warm gold ornament, one saturated royal blue. That restraint is why the detail reads rather than collapses.

Use & Experience

On a tumbler silhouette the artwork works as a wraparound panel with a clear front-facing focal point at hand height, so the crown and skull stay visible whether it sits on a desk or travels with you. The dark ground gives the gold ornament somewhere to breathe, the handle side keeps negative space, and the vertical proportion lets the crown, skull and ball stack into a clean hierarchy.
